Nestled along the Rocky Mountain Front, Augusta is just 130 miles south of Glacier National Park and just 400 miles north of Yellowstone National Park. Consider this scenic route for your National Park vacations and be sure to stop and see us at Latigo & Lace.
Augusta is also a main entrance to the Bob Marshall Wilderness, home of the famous Chinese Wall.
Freezeout Lake, a bird lovers paradise, is located 30 miles (as the crow flies) east of Augusta. Be sure to mark your calendars to watch seasonal bird migrations here as the birds use Freezeout Lake as a staging area on their long, yearly voyages. An estimated 100,000+ snow geese were seen this spring as were 1000′s of northern pintails and many other water fowl were here.
